Blood Alcohol Concentration(BAC) is the amount of alcohol in the bloodstream. You measure it in percentages. For example if you have a BAC of 0.10 percent that means you have 1 part alcohol per 1,000 parts blood in your body. Factors that determine BAC:
1.Number of standard drinks
2.Amount of time which drinks are consumed
3.Body weight
4.Gender
5.Food(to a much lesser extent)
One standard drink =1/2 ounce of ethyl alcohol.Even small amounts of alcohol in the system affect judgement and coordination. Increased amounts affect the body and mind more dramatically. Large amounts can kill you!!
