Stick to limits!
The best way to stay healthy is to not drink more than the sensible daily limit and to have at least two non alcohol days a week.
Eat before you drink!
Food helps absorc alcohol, so that limits how quickly what you drink will get into your bloodstream. If you are going out for the night eat a decent meal before you go. That will give you more energy and you will have more fun=D
Eat well you drink!
Just as eating befroe you start drinking can limit how quickly alcohol gets in your bloodstream, its a good idea to have a few snacks along the way.
Don't drink everyday!
The human liver is an incredible organ. nopt only does it deal with all kinds of poisons for our body including alcohol, it can also repair itself. Drinking alcohol causes changes in some liver cells and kills of others. You should give yourself a "liver detox" by making sure to have at lest two days of no alcohol per week.

Men and Alcohol!
Men drink more on average than women!
Men behaving badly
Alcohol effects your judgement and intensifies your emotions. It can also make you more aggressive. Alcohol is also a factor in 32% of domestic violence.
Macho drinking cultures
Men are there own worst enemy when it comes to drinking and we bring out the worst in each other. More men are dying because of there drinking habits. In 2004 1,515 men in Scotland died of alcohol related causes, that is almost three times more than the number of women. And this is a growing problem. Drinking makes depression and anxiety worse and 70% of men who complete suicide are found to have been drunk. I think people in general just need to know how much they should drink before that will hurt themselves or anyone else.

Effects at different Blood Alcohol concentrations!
Blood Alcohol Concentration(BAC) is the amount of alcohol in the bloodstream. You measure it in percentages. For example if you have a BAC of 0.10 percent that means you have 1 part alcohol per 1,000 parts blood in your body. Factors that determine BAC:
1.Number of standard drinks
2.Amount of time which drinks are consumed
3.Body weight
4.Gender
5.Food(to a much lesser extent)
One standard drink =1/2 ounce of ethyl alcohol.Even small amounts of alcohol in the system affect judgement and coordination. Increased amounts affect the body and mind more dramatically. Large amounts can kill you!!

Dangers of Binge Drinking!
To many people are taking part in binge drinking. Binge drinking is when you drink to intoxication. That is having five or more drinks in a row for men. For women it is four or more drinks in a row. According to a survey from the U.S. Department of Education 44% of college students are binge drinkers! Binge drinking is linked with unintentional injuries according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. Some of the injuries that could happen are, motor vehicle crashes, falls, burns, drowning, and hypothermia. There are many other injuries that can happen,SO BE CAREFUL!! Alcohol poisoning can be fatal to binge drinking. Alcohol effects the central nervous system, slowing of breathing, and heart rate. It can also interfer with your gag reflex, which recreases your risk of choking on vomit!! So i would have to say i think binge drinking is pretty stupid. You can get very sick from doing it. If your going to drink you should be responsible.

Women and Alcohol
There are very different ways that alcohol affects women and men. Knowing the differneces could save your life. Drinking more than three glasses of wine per day can increase your risk of getting breast cancer. In a large glass of wine there are almost 200 calories. Womens average of drinking per week in 2002 was 45% higher than in 1992. Some experts say that drinking more than one glass a day could reduce your chances of having a baby. Three reasons women should not drink like men. The first one is that women are usually smaller than men so there is less room for us to absorb the alcohol. Second more on average have 10% more fat then men because of female curves. So there is less body fluid to get rid of the alcohol. So it travels around the women's body and is more harmful to them. The last reason is that women's liver produce less of the substance the body uses to break down alcohol. This means women get drunk quicker but effects them for a longer time. Women should drink no more than 2-3 units per day. A unit is 10ml of pure alcohol. So if your a girl be careful of how much you drink, because you could really hurt yourself and other things later in your life.

effects on the body....
There are many things bad things that can happen to you. The stages of intoxication tell you about what can happen as you drink more and more. Stage 1: is A social Lubricant. After one or two drinks you are more talkative and your heart rate will speeds up a little. This gives your body an "up" feeling. This is the effect when people say that alcohol makes them feel more sociable. Step 2: is Giddy Up! After a couple more drinks you will feel light headed. Your cordination and reaction time will be impaired. And your abilitys to make decisions is slowed down. Step 3: I'm perfectly shober! After a few more drinks(7-9) people will show definite signs of alcohol effects. Drinking more that 8 drinks at a time will seriously overload the liver. Step 4: Nobody's friend...Drinking more than 10 drinks at a time has most people staggering about where they are. Accidents can happen very easily. Fights can happen quick, just by bumping into someone could easily make them mad. This amount of alcohol will be effecting cells all over the body. Step 5:Unconscious or Dead:( 30 drinks is enough to knock a person out. From that point its a short time to heart failure and brething slowly to stop. Even if someone is unconscious the alcohol in the body can still be absorbed andreach lethal levels. Well those are all the steps to INTOXICATION. I hope you learn a lot about this and are careful when you drink.
